The Vitals Privacy Promise
Health information is personal. Here is what we collect, why we collect it, and the control you have — written in plain English, not legalese.
What Vitals is (and isn't)
Vitals is a community where people share what they've actually experienced with their health conditions — what helped, what didn't. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis, or a prescription. We don't treat conditions, and we don't promise any results. Always check with a qualified doctor before changing anything about your care.
What we collect
Account basics: your email, the conditions you choose to follow, your goals, and (optionally) your city. The experiences and signals you choose to share. Information about how you use the app (which pages you visit, which features you use) so we can make it work better.
Why we collect it
To run your account and the community. To personalise what you see (with your consent). And — separately, only with your consent — to improve Vitals and produce combined anonymised insights.
Sensitive health data
Health information is sensitive, and we treat it that way. We ask for clear consent before collecting it, we limit who can see it, and you can withdraw your consent and delete your data at any time — in one tap.
Who can see what
Other members see the structured signals you choose to share. Verified practitioners review them. We never expose your identity against a health signal without your explicit choice.
Anonymised insights
We may share combined, anonymised insights with researchers or health organisations to advance understanding of conditions. These insights never contain anything that identifies you. You can opt out of being included without losing access to the community.
Your rights
You can access, correct, delete, or export your data, withdraw your consent, and opt out of insights at any time from your account settings. We respond to requests promptly.
Data protection contact
For privacy questions or grievances, email admin@dietsefit.com. We aim to respond within a few working days.
Notifications
If you turn on push notifications, we'll only send brief, generic alerts (for example, "A practitioner answered your question") so no health details ever appear on your lock screen. You can change or turn this off any time in Settings.
Cookies & analytics
We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and features are used so we can improve Vitals. These tools only load after you tap "Accept" on the cookie banner — until then, no analytics cookies are set and nothing is sent. We never attach your health condition, signal, or red-flag answers to analytics events; page paths are aggregated for usage metrics only. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, analytics stays off by default. You can change your choice any time below.
Children
Vitals is for adults aged 18 and over only.
Changes & contact
If we change anything material about how we handle your data, we'll re-ask for your consent. For anything else, write to us at admin@dietsefit.com — we read every message.
